Greetings, Eaters and Readers!
Wanting a new place to pour our food thoughts into written word, I suggested we try Elevated Coffee Co., a new coffee brewhouse by Offutt Air Force Base. About a mile off the Capehart exit, you’ll find Elevated in a strip mall donning a bright orange banner inviting you in.
When you walk in, you’ll see a table-top bar on the left side, a coffee counter on the right, eight tables and about 16 feet of local beer for sale. And as I write this, Martha and I are being serenaded by two army vets with guitars and a dog named Margarette. They asked for song requests as we walked in – it was a nice ambiance to write to.

Cookie Butter Sweet Cream Cold Brew ($7) | Strawberry Boba Milk Tea ($6)
Having arrived at 10:30, it was too early to get a beer, although they do have bottomless mimosas. 👀 Martha got the Cookie Butter Sweet Cream Cold Brew. It took a few sips before she noticed all the cookie butter flavor was at the bottom. So after a good stir, she enjoyed it a bit more – although she wishes there was a couple extra pumps of that cookie butter flavor.
I asked the server if there were any dairy-free options for the boba milk tea. My choices were almond or oat milk. I chose oat milk with strawberry flavor. It tasted exactly like Nesquik strawberry syrup – which is just fine, but not what I was expecting. I was also surprised to slurp up lychee jelly instead of boba. The menu definitely says boba. They weren’t my favorite texture.

Turkey Bacon Avocado Panini ($7.50)
Technically this sandwich comes with cheddar cheese, but I asked to have it without. Even if I had eaten it with the cheese, I don’t think I would’ve felt differently about this panini. The turkey tasted like it came from the packaged deli meat section at a grocery store. And the avocado was in spread form instead of fresh slices. Not bad, but it wasn’t anything to write home (or you) about. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend this sandwich.

Sausage, Egg & Cheese Bagel ($6.50)
Martha thought she remembered more inspiring sandwich options when we looked at the website earlier in the week. When it came time to order, however, she wasn’t seeing anything too exciting and she was a bit hurried by that internal panic “hurry up and get out of the way!” She landed on a brekkie staple: a sausage, egg & cheese bagel. She worried the tiniest bit while she waited – sometimes bagel sandwiches are tough to eat because the bagel is too hard or over toasted. And while this sandwich isn’t one she would tell you to make the drive for – it was hot, fresh, yummy enough, and not at all too tough. Ultimately, she just wishes she got something a little bit more creative for the price.

Sea Salt Caramel Toffee Latte ($7)
Since we were hunkered down for a while, Martha got herself another coffee. This time, a Sea Salt Caramel Toffee Latte that was more to her liking than the cold brew.
Final Bites
If you ask me, Elevated isn’t worth the drive. If you live nearby – sure, hop in for a quick drink. We’re curious what the Friday night vibes are like. We could be wrong, but it doesn’t seem like they’ve been here long enough to establish themselves as a popular spot. Maybe they are hopping during that weekday morning rush? And maybe if they hosted game nights, it would draw in a steady crowd. Everyone loves a good reason to support a small, local business.
What’s cool about Elevated, though, is their commitment to local brews and – as Martha Mentioned – coffee beans. They have Kinkaider, White Elm, Site-1, First Street and a few other local faves. We give them props for that.
While I’m a firm fork sideways, Martha toggled at a 45° angled fork. Her experience was more elevated (heh … see what I did there?) than mine, but not astounding enough to be a fork up. So until we create a new forking system, she settled on a sideways.
Cheers!
